Overview
Applications are open for the McGill University Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program 2027 in Canada. This fully funded master's scholarship is designed for talented African students who are passionate about driving change in public health, nutrition, public policy, and sustainable agriculture.
The scholarship covers all costs associated with studying at McGill University and supports future leaders committed to making a positive impact in their home countries. A total of 35 scholarships are awarded annually across 13 graduate programs.
Eligibility
- Applicants must:
- - Be admissible to an eligible master's program at McGill University.
- - Have never enrolled in or completed a master's degree.
- - Be citizens and residents of an African country.
- - Be 35 years old or younger at the time of application.
- - Possess a valid passport and qualify for a Canadian study permit.
- - Demonstrate leadership, community involvement, and a commitment to giving back to their communities.
- - Show that financial barriers have limited their educational opportunities.
- - Hold a bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Priority is given to women, refugees, internally displaced persons, returnees, and persons living with disabilities.

How to Apply for Fully Funded McGill University Mastercard Foundation Scholarship 2027 in Canada
- Register for and attend a mandatory virtual information session between June 23 and July 15, 2026.
- Eligible participants will receive the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program application form.
- Complete the first stage of the application before August 21, 2026.
- Shortlisted candidates will proceed to the McGill University admission stage.
- Successful applicants will be selected for the scholarship after the admission process.
Applicants should not contact supervisors directly for thesis programs. Instructions will be provided to selected candidates.
